Nutrition Post on what to eat

Just tell me what to eat!!

Well, you really need to be able to sustain this long term so it is normally best if you have some input on what you are eating on the reg.....Let me explain....

How many calories is that? I don’t know, enough….I ate it and I was not hungry after. I had multiple sources of protein so that was covered.  First meal of the day was low carb, only real carb source here was the organic peas.  I also had raw veg in the red onion, organic arugula and half an avocado.  When we cook food, especially veg., we lose some of the nutrients as the enzymes of the food changes when it is cooked.  Everything was also of high quality, nothing was processed with possibly the exception of the sausage which was minimal. Everything on plate was real living food.  This is how I would begin to evaluate one’s meals.  Focus on quality ingredients as opposed to macros and cal counting.  Look back at the old family pictures, do you notice how no one is fat? Did they all just count their cals better than everyone else does today? Maybe the food was higher quality? Maybe, the natural ingredients that were used even in fast food spots back then were better.

A good rule on whether you should eat it or not….

Could your great great grandma have eaten this same meal? If so, you are probably good…

Take it one step further, did the ingredient run, swim or fly; or come off a tree or out of the ground? If it did, it is probably good to include it.

Below we have organic arugula, onion, avocado, and cooked frozen peas.  Everything was heated with high quality olive oil. Chicken was pasture raised from a regenerative farm, eggs were also pasture raised.  Sausage was from Trader Joe’s so that’s the only wild card here, only one link was used today.  The only other ingredient was a few pickle slices for acid.

For all the “just tell me what to eat people”, eat something of high quality.  The more you do that, the better off you will be long term.

Option for Cardio Training

A mixed workout can be beneficial for those that may not always enjoy steady state cardio training. I felt that this style of mixed training allows me to move from one aspect to the next and the time
