Example of a Mixed Workout-more advanced KB movements

Updated: Oct 24, 2025

How can I lift weights and still get conditioning done?

Short answer, KBs. Kettlebells are great for this and to be honest this is the best way to have your body shed excess weight when it is ready and able to. I would not jump right into a workout such as this if you are coming off the couch.

In this vid we talk about some techniques that we use to build the KB snatch. It is a very challenging movement but can get your HR to sky rocket while building lean dense muscle tissue.

We then explain how we can use that movement to build on top of itself and invite more muscles to the party. This then can flow directly into some other KB movements where power and stability learn to coexist with conditioning. At that point we give some options for active recovery and let the heart get some true aerobic work while we learn how to control our energy.

Mixed workout-some strength with some conditioning

Setting: At home or gym

Level: advanced

Intensity: Development

Who is it For: Anyone that doesn't really enjoy a ton of steady state cardio but knows that they should do it. If you have the basic movements down of pulling ,rotating, hinging, and pushing and are familiar with KBs then this is going to be a Home Run for you!

Equipment Needed: KB (light to medium), bands, cardio piece (stepper or any type of bike is ideal).

Option for Cardio Training

A mixed workout can be beneficial for those that may not always enjoy steady state cardio training. I felt that this style of mixed training allows me to move from one aspect to the next and the time
