Conditioning circuit

We look to touch some muscles while driving the heart rate up here. This can be a pretty efficient workout for most so if you are tight on time and the lower body is feeling good give it a go!

Setting: At home/gym

Level: intermediate

Intensity: Stimulation (medium)

Who is it For: Anyone with a bit of a training history.

Equipment Needed: lighter KBs, clubs, big step or box, heart rate monitor

Description of workout:

KBs power, steps, swings.

Double snatches with KBs X10

Weighted step ups for time (2-2:30)

Club swings to back pack X20-30 reps

Run it 3X to start-you can finish in under 20 mins

These movements will condition the lower body muscles while also driving your heart rate up. It is recommended to definitely wear a heart rate monitor if you have one. Combining workouts such as these with traditional strength workouts are a great way to lose weight. I think of the process in the sense that I am trying to build my engine with the strength days and then at least once a week I need to run the engine. As the muscles get stronger and the heart becomes more conditioned, we can add volume to a basic workout such as this.
